Privacy Policy
The Dinger Almanac is a stats analysis site. We collect as little personal data as we can, we never sell it, and we tell you exactly what we store.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you, unless you give it to us:
- Anonymous traffic analytics. Vercel, our hosting provider, records aggregated request counts, response times, and rough geographic regions (country/state level). No cookies from us, no personal identifiers.
- Email correspondence. If you email hello@thedingeralmanac.com, we keep the email and any info you chose to share. We don't sell it.
- Subscriber email + billing info (future). If we launch a paid subscription, payment is handled by Stripe — we never see your card number. We store your email address and subscription status only.
What we don't do
- No third-party ad tracking, no pixels, no Facebook/Meta tags.
- No selling of data to anyone, ever.
- No user accounts or login systems currently. (Subject to change when subscriptions launch — we'll update this page.)
- No profile building, no behavioral targeting.
Cookies
We don't set any first-party cookies. Vercel may set a short-lived session cookie for edge routing. If that changes (e.g., when logins launch), we'll add a cookie notice.
Third-party data sources
Our forecasts come from publicly available baseball data:
- MLB Stats API — team rosters, schedules, game logs, boxscores.
- Baseball Savant — publicly published Statcast leaderboards.
- Anthropic — provides the AI that writes the pick rationale sentences. We send the model anonymous game-stat payloads; no visitor data.
We don't send your personal data to any of these services.
Children's privacy
The site is a stats publication, not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has contacted us, email and we'll delete anything on file.
Your rights
Under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), and similar laws, you have the right to request a copy of any personal data we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email hello@thedingeralmanac.com with the request. We'll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when anything changes and update the “Effective” date at the top. Significant changes (e.g., launching subscriptions or adding analytics tools) will be announced on the homepage.
